What we do to our children!

So we hit up the new bassano outdoor pool during the free week and it really is a lovely little pool - a bit cool - but still a nice little pool.

Sometimes my kids are so darn cute in the morning that I just have to take a picture of them so they both smile beautifully for posterity and we only have to take one instead of ten pictures and pick the most normal one. This was not one of those mornings =) Dont get me wrong - they were cute!

Oh and due to the wonderful supportive wife that I am we actually went fishing (shudder) as a family out on the boat one night. So Vance put a little minnow on Melia's hook for bait and she fished for about 10 1/2 seconds but when she pulled it up - THERE WAS A FISH!! She was super duper excited (her current phrase) and wanted me to take a picture of her fish that she caught. In case you cant tell - its a minnow. (The very same one daddy put on - but dont tell). I took a picture and she proceeded to play with the vile thing for about ten minutes while mommy did her very best not to gag noticibly. EWWWWWWWWWWW. Thats all I can say.

Oh yes and the things we do to our poor children. he he he. So a usual occurrence in this house is for us to crank our music and party down to whatever we happen to be in the mood for - anyone surprised? Well you may not remember or care how much fun Melia used to have with my belly dancing coin belts but she used to love them and for the first time in Kyan's rememberance we broke them out again. I put one on Melia and he booted it right over to have one tied on as well.
He loved every second of it!! Being a child who loves to make LOUD noise the ability to make noise as you walk and run is totally winning. He shook and jumped and ran around wayyy longer than Melia cared to! Then of course Melia decided that it was time for the tutu and ran to get hers on. Did I mention that Kyan hates to be left out of anything?
He grabbed one and ran right over to have his put on so he could strut his stuff as well. He did one up her though cause he has TWO on =)
Vance was very apologetic to Kyan about the trauma he will suffer in later years due to an older sister and a mom who likes to take pictures but I had to share =)
Oh yes and kathy you have been raised to super hero status in our household with the sharing of "the blue princess dress that Kathy gave me". Yes she uses the whole title every time she wants to wear it and she modeled it promptly for the missionaries when they came over - poor elders =)
Oh yes and I am now totally grown up (25 wait ummm 26?)and am patiently waiting for my new cricut cartridges for my birthday present! Lovely parties have been happening all september - so very convenient! Vance loves that everyone else had parties so he cant possibly be expected to do anything crazy for me - slacker =) he he he
