Famous people!

I have to share my experience's with famous people!

1. When the first Harry Potter movie came out my little brother looked EXACTLY like him. He would go around town and people would all do a double take and then (since they knew him) would go off about how much he looked like Harry Potter. Then one weekend when I stole him away with me we were at the baptism of one of Vance's neices I think and as we left a young boy almost fell over staring at Tyler and finally asked if he could have a picture with Harry Potter. My sweet brother said yes and the little boy got a picture with Harry Potter which probably made his week - if not his life!

2. My husband grows out his beard during school. Im sure you haven't noticed. He has often been referred to as Grizzly Adams and he has always enjoyed the reference. This past weekend we went to his work Christmas party and the guys he works with mentioned he looked allot like the actor from 'Hangover'. Strangely enough we have never seen this film. (We also don't recommend it - due to comments from the guys he works with) They showed Vance a picture and I can see the resemblance. Later on in the evening when we were about to get going a guy came over to our table and sat beside Vance staring at him and then asked him how filming Hangover was.
Vance: ummmm
Guy: I've never met anyone famous before.
Vance: really?
Guy: what are you working on now?
Vance: I can't really talk about it yet but you are going to love it!
Guy: Why is everyone looking at me and laughing
Vance:well you just kinda get used to it when your famous. just smile and carry on
Guy: okay. cool. can I have your autograph?
Vance: well I don't have a pen
Guy: Oh I'll go get one!!
(guys leaves)
Vance: can we leave now?
Me: (laughing so hard I can't talk)
(guy returns)
Guy: hey I got a pen
Vance: oh cool ummmm whats your name?
Guy: says his name
Vance: okay
Vance writes:

To Name
Best of Luck.
(illegible scribble as signature)

Guy: wow thanks
Vance: see ya
(guy leaves)
Vance: lets run
(we run)

I seem to be surrounded by famous people!!

Flower pictures

Really you are welcome not to care but these are some of the strange and cool flowers I took pictures of so I wanted to put them on here.
When we were buying the flowers for Savana's reception we went to this wholesale flower place. Its about the size of Costco totally filled up with different flowers. And cheap! There were a variety of flowers I had never seen before and since I took Melia she was in heaven. Okay so I actually had no idea that they colored flowers with food coloring! Is this common knowledge? Where was I when this information was given out? I totally thought that we could grow all these crazy colors of flowers! well you learn something new everyday I guess.

Looks like a pinecone to me!

They soo look plastic!

It totally looks like a chick with her hands on her hips! pippy long stockings?

fabulous color!

purple cabbage I believe?

looks like pumpkins but I think they are peppers? thats what they felt like anyway. apparently Melia picked one up off the floor (so she says) and pocketed it and it came home. so apparently when I said on my declaration form that I hadn't brought any plants, fruit, vegetables... I lied.

Flowers we actually chose for the wedding. I really was slacking cause I totally didn't get Vana's bouquet!

Out and about San Diego flowers.

The End but really just the beginning of a new obsession I think. I never thought about it before but if you have cool flower pictures they are sometimes even cooler in black and white! My mom printed off a bunch she had taken in San Diego for the reception in Calgary and they were AMAZING! I may have stolen some and put them up in my house =)

Carlsbad Reception

Ready for more reception pictures? These ones are from California? ME TOO!! In case you are curious I am definately making progress on catching up! The outfits may be rather familiar =)

The other two were sleeping so this is our concious family in front of the temple.

Two wedding quilts made for Savana - one by my mom and one by her sister - to cover the valuble pieces of her history - or geography I guess =). She was born in Africa, raised in Canada
and then migrated south of the border. It's okay - we love her anyway. =)

OK So the funny part about this picture is how long I looked at the candles trying to figure out what was wrong with them. Finally it hit me that Savana's initials are backwards. Her name was Savana Woodruff so clearly the S should be first and W should be second. Then (fortunately before I switched them) my second realization came that it was not ALL about Savana anymore. Her husbands name is Will. W and then S is not backwards - its fine but let me tell you that didn't stop me from having that niggling feeling in the back of my mind that something was out of order! Apparently I do have some OCD tendencies =)

Playing with my camera again. The little boys were playing in the water in the centerpieces so there were splashes all over the table but the tablecloth's must have been water resistent cause the water just sat on the table in drops - very fun.

Her cake was fabulous - thats white chocolate shavings on top. Very fun! They had a mixup at the cake store the day of the wedding and one of the layers of her cake was sent out to someone elses wedding. Fortunately the layer left behind was the same kind as hers and they just had to re-decorate the top to fit her colors. Increase her stress level of course but it all turned out well in the end. She was just a bit late for the pizza party/ family dinner. Don't worry she still got pizza.

These were my flowers as a bridesmaid but Melia strongly disagreed that I should be the only one with flowers. She later realized that the Bride had even cooler flowers and tried to steal them right as she was coming out of the temple and everyone was trying to take pictures of them. I had to speak firmly to her and let her hold mine.

Savana trying to figure out how to get her flowers back without a brawl.

Not being allowed to go in the temple did not sit very well with Melia. She sat on the sidewalk and would not be moved while waiting for Savana and Will to come out. We finally managed to drag her away when we found out they would be coming out a different door. Really not a bad quality though right? We are told we should stand in Holy Places and Be Not Moved? She's got the right place to stand (in the temple instead of outside but since she wants IN so bad I think she has the idea) and she's facing the right direction so the rest of raising her should be easy right? right? just say yes okay!

The best family pictures we got. I figure everyone is cute and mostly happy so we win right? The fact that the only reason Kyan was in the picture was because he got to hold the flower means nothing!

The blurry one is always the best right?

Pretend we look normalish in these k?

Are you pretending? good

Just for the record - they told her to do this. She thought it was fantastic that she got to hold Vana's dress!

Mom, Dad, Talia, Missy and Tyler
Missy had like the perfect dress to match Savana's vision! She has had it for a while so clearly she and Savana share some of the same vision.

I have to say I am totally jealous of my mom's little suit. It is soo cute and fits me, I mean HER fabulously I must say. I told my mom we should institute a Dress swap so I can wear all her cute clothes. She looks better in most of my clothes than I do so it would actually work out well for both of us I think. Good sales eh? but true actually. I'll let you know if it works out =)

Daddy and my sweet angel or little rage as she is better known. =)

Tyler and my parents. Tyler had a nice week just hanging out on the beach and staying at the Banana Bungalo. Strangely enough he didn't want to hang out with us while we went everywhere with our little angels =)

The Beach

It seems so appropriate to blog about the beach right now with the temperature outside being such that we have to plug in our cars. And really the snow reminds me of the sand on the beach anyway. =)

Travelling with my parents is awesome! What kids?

First real beach for little rage.

A bit nervous but definitely interested.

Nice sand!!!!!!!!!!!!

No idea who this is - I was just having fun taking pictures =)
One of the great benefits of playing in the sand. Pinning your children and them being happy about it. Sigh... they squint like their dad.

Look neither of them is fighting, screaming, nagging, hassling the baby or demanding a snack. What sweet children. Maybe I do need to live by a beach...oh right I do!

So we found this awesome piece of seaweed long enough to play jump rope with - so we did! My parents are so FUN! Savana was glad afterwards that she hadn't been able to come with us - we are SO embarassing! he he he We like to help her appreciate working.

Look my feet actually left the ground! I CAN jump!
Yeah he can really jump, thats why I put my picture first so it wasn't so pitiful to see mine after his. Do you love that my mom is holding my baby and turning the rope? She is so multitalented!
Not sure what I was doing while she was doing all the work. Oh...right...nevermind.

Vance showing off more of his skills. Who let him come anyway?

Bye Beach!
